Self Portrait

I have always wondered why do people often push all present emotions, good or bad, aside and smile for a photo? Is it a social norm, something that we have been trained, to do that?

Why do we want to remove all connections to what the true situation is and how we are feeling when we need to truly capture a moment?

What is my true self portrait like? I am still thinking.

Portrait

The idiosyncrasy of an individual that understands the savageness of a monster.

I love this picture... I am the one with that idiosyncrasy.

There is always a first time..

It took me a few years before I decided to start a blog. I used to wonder how so many people are willing to share their life journey and experiences with the rest of the world. Good, bad and the absolute excesses.
Some share dreams, some share exciting escapades and some share great stories that take our imagination off this planet. I am especially in awe of these few special individuals and they have inspired me to share a personal space of mine with everyone.

I am currently looking at the art work of Wun Ying. Gorgeous illustrations of characters of a different world. Whimsical? Maybe.
It is perhaps her ability to bring out the quiet innocence and beauty of the characters she draws through their eyes. Makes me believe that whatever random strangeness that can emerge out of them can be beautiful and thus exude a quiet innocence. They do bring out a certain essence of how I view the world.
Rose tinted glasses anyone?
